Social Enterprise Greenhouse celebrated their first Venture Spotlight event last night with The Providence Granola Project. About a dozen members convened at the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Hub to hear about how The Providence Granola Project does well and does good. Over wine and cheese, Director of Strategic Partnerships Anne Dombrofski and Founder and Executive Director Keith Cooper discussed challenges and high points of running both a  social venture and a non-profit.

The Providence Granola Project is venture nested under Beautiful Day RI, a nonprofit dedicated to providing onramps to employment for recently-arrived refugees. Beautiful Day prides itself on empowering refugees and enabling vibrant communities . The organization also works closely with the local refugee resettlement agency Dorcas International Institute of Rhode Island. Learn more about Dorcas here.

Beautiful Day is a coworking desk member at Social Enterprise Greenhouse, where their Social Venture Operations Intern, Crystal Rosatti, is spending the summer. Anne is a frequent fixture in the space as well, and enjoys hosting their weekly meetings there most Tuesdays.

Look out for their upcoming Indiegogo to launch a new product they’ve been working on! To learn more, get involved, or to place a granola order, check out Beautiful Day RI online and follow them on Facebook.
