SE Greenhouse helps social entrepreneurs and enterprises find the capital they need to be successful. Depending on their size and financial needs, social enterprises that are Hub members or Accelerator graduates can connect with capital in three ways.
- The Greenhouse Loan Fund offers below market-rate loans to social enterprises that are generating revenues and have a viable business model, and have a clear social mission and impacts. Preference is given to applicants that are graduates of the SE Greenhouse Accelerator. Loans are generally offered for prime plus 4-8%, and must be used to fund growth. Technical assistance is available during the application process, and throughout the duration of the loan.
- Pitch Nights are quarterly meet-ups at the Greenhouse Hub that allow qualifying social enterprises to pitch directly to a wide range of potential funders from throughout Rhode Island and southern New England, including individual impact investors, representatives from angel investor groups like Cherrystone, and representatives from lending organizations like the Business Development Corp. and Slater Fund. Social enterprises selected to participate are given 5 minutes to pitch, followed by an hour of informal networking over wine and cheese. Preference is given to applicants that are graduates of the SE Greenhouse Accelerator.
- Individual coaching that focuses on identifying and connecting with potential sources of capital is offered to qualifying social enterprises that are members of the Greenhouse Hub, or have participated in Greenhouse programming, but have not been able to participate in Pitch Nights or the Greenhouse Accelerator.
