About the Position

This role will create a thriving and effective social business ecosystem by adapting current SEG programming to meet the specific needs of entrepreneurs who have not traditionally had access to resources and support in the Pawtucket, Central Falls and Central Providence communities.

We seek a collaborative, customer-focused, bilingual leader who will build deep community partnerships and design and execute high-quality Spanish programs in accordance with local needs and SEG’s mission. This position will report to the CEO.

This position will be accountable for the following goals:

  • Develop and strengthen partnerships with community leaders and existing organizations and initiatives that are serving entrepreneurs and the communities we aim to reach; 
  • Adapt, expand, develop and execute programming to meet the unique needs of social enterprises and small businesses in those communities and build a thriving network with a specific commitment to addressing system inequities;
  • Lead the delivery of Spanish-language programs and services;
  • Grow and sustain the programming through service partnerships and fundraising;
  • Work closely with the RI coalition of business support organizations to improve coordination and collaboration around best supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership: The Director will lead a team and be expected to provide direction, priorities, and supervision for the work we do to support the communities of Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Central Providence as well our Spanish language programming. The Director will be responsible for representing and advocating for the needs of those communities and participants both internally and externally.

Adapt, expand, and execute SEG Spanish programming: The Director will collaborate with SEG staff to lead program adaptation/design to meet the needs of the community with a focus on equity including expanding and delivering Spanish programs and services.

Build and nurture relationships: The Director will be a relationship builder – developing strong trusted relationships with local community members, leaders, and organizations as well as recruiting, managing and engaging entrepreneurs, volunteer advisors, and partner/funder organizations in the Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Central Providence area.

Assess needs and develop program strategy: The Director will be charged with creating an effective and thriving network for social entrepreneurs in the communities. The Director will ensure programs align with local needs and SEG organizational objectives, track activity and report progress to the executive team and board.

Support Coalition of Business Support Organizations: Ensure that the coalition is able to operate effectively and collaboratively to provide services and resources to entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Support Fundraising and Development: The Director will support the executive team in grant writing, individual donor cultivation, and corporate sponsorships to sustain and grow the initiative.

  • Experience: 8+ years demonstrated success in community building/development, program development, business/entrepreneurship; and/or project management;

Required: Fluency in Spanish and experience with any of the focus communities of Central Falls, Pawtucket, or Central Providence.

This position is full-time starting as soon as possible. 

Starting Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
