About the Position

Reports To: Director of Community Economic Development, with formal support from Senior Director of Programs

Effective: June 2024 - December 2024, with the possibility of extension beyond 2024 as a full-time employee

This contract position will manage the cohort-based Incubator/Incubadora for SEG’s Grow programs, a place-based economic development initiative, across the state of Rhode Island.

As the GROW Program Manager, you'll be at the heart of our mission to empower entrepreneurs in historically excluded communities. You'll play a key role in helping these businesses thrive and create positive change.


In this role, you will:
  • Support place-based programs in historically excluded communities in Rhode Island, including target areas within Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Woonsocket
  • Plan, execute, and manage in-person Incubator in Woonsocket and Incubadora in Central Falls
  • Plan, execute, and manage all 10 sessions for each program and support each program participant’s journey in the cohort

Specific Responsibilities 

Outreach

  • Coordinate outreach - with peak periods during cohort program recruitment - for the GROW Incubator and GROW Incubadora programs.
  • Pipeline nonprofits, entrepreneurs and small business owners into SEG programs and services.
  • Outreach, engage, and prepare SEG’s volunteer advisors to support in the facilitation and support of cohort sessions

Systems & Structures

  • Update and launch processes and systems via Google Classroom to track participant engagement, satisfaction, and program impact for the GROW Incubator and Incubadora
  • Ensure relevant program data is entered correctly into Salesforce
  • Support Director of Community Economic Development with regular communication and updates to partner institution, Skills for Rhode Island’s Future and that all tracking methodologies and data align with partners’ needs

Program Management

  • Lead application, interview and assessment processes for selecting the GROW Incubator and Incubadora cohorts (15 - 18 individuals in each cohort)
  • Manage all communications with advisors and cohort program participants, prepare session materials, and ensure all follow up is conducted in a timely manner
  • Lead class structure facilitation, tech support, and coordination of physical space and any additional requirements for each session
  • Support program participant requests, questions, and communications
  • Lead the planning and coordination of graduations events for the GROW Incubator and Incubadora
We're looking for someone with:
  • 3+ years of experience working with nonprofits and managing programs.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship, business development, and economic development.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in G Suite, CRM software, and Google Classroom.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • A commitment to equity and inclusion.

This is a hybrid position with regular travel across Rhode Island.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in Rhode Island. You'll be compensated at $4,500 per month and have the chance to be part of a dynamic and supportive team.

This position is hybrid with the expectation that the Program Manager will work regularly in Woonsocket, Central Falls, and Providence. This position may extend to a permanent role with full benefits, funding dependent. 

Benefits: Generous PTO and sick time with additional benefits available if position becomes permanent.
