SEG Ideator

We guide you through workshops, group work sessions, and one-on-one SEG mentorship to help you access the tools, knowledge, and resources of our ecosystem. Our goal is to help you navigate key steps in assessing the feasibility of your idea and then determine whether to pursue, pivot, partner, or pass on it.

In this 8-week program, you will:

• Learn about the concept of social enterprise and your role as a social entrepreneur
  
• Develop and test your idea and assessed its potential for profitability and impact
  
• Define the product or service you might sell, how it’s unique, and who will use it
  
• Identify the challenge you are addressing and the value and social impact of your idea relative to other products or services being offered
  
• Determine if you want to pursue your idea, pivot to a new strategy, partner with an existing business or organization, or pass on the idea for now

The Ideator is an 8-week program that meets twice a week. Each weekly module is divided into 2 sessions. In the first module you will learn core content, and in the second module you will apply what you have learned by refining your idea in facilitated group work.

During the program, you will have access to:

• A designated SEG Staff Guide who can offer tools, resources, and other assistance
• A 6-month SEG Hub Ecosystem Coworking Membership with 9-5 Monday - Friday access
• SEG Community workshops
• Small-group work sessions facilitated by SEG experts
• Independent Advising with SEG experts

The Ideator application consists of 2 parts, an application form and a short interview with one of our program managers.

Applications are accepted at any time during the year. We screen and accept program applicants during the month before and after an application deadline.

The usual cost to participate in the SEG Ideator is $200 per participant.

However, given the challenging times and SEG’s commitment to ensuring our services are accessible to everyone, we are asking participants to pay as much as they can afford toward this cost, with no minimum payment required.
