35 Business Ventures Join SEG’s Impact Accelerator and Incubator Programs for Fall Cohort

October 11, 2023

Providence, RI – Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG), one of the state’s leading business support organizations, recently welcomed 35 business ventures into the fall cohort of their Impact Accelerator and Incubator programs.

“We are elated to welcome our latest group of social impact entrepreneurs to the fall cohort of the Impact Accelerator and Incubator programs,” said Julie Owens, CEO of Social Enterprise Greenhouse. “At SEG, we seek to accelerate impact by providing inclusive support and networks for entrepreneurs and businesses committed to delivering positive societal and economic change.”

As part of its mission, SEG seeks to accelerate impact by providing inclusive support and networks for entrepreneurs and businesses committed to positive societal and economic change, with the goal of creating a more just, equitable, and resilient economy achieved through social purpose business.

SEG programs include:

  • Impact Accelerator focuses on high-potential social startups that have already generated revenue and provides support to entrepreneurs who are ready to take their venture to the next level.
  • The Incubator is designed for participants who already have a product or service with an audience and intended impact. Those interested in this program  should be looking to commit and formalize their product or service via launching a business.
  • Incubadora (Español) follows the same guidelines as “The Incubator,” however, this cohort is taught entirely in Spanish and is designed for native Spanish speakers.
  • The Ideator is a entry-level program that guides participants through workshops, group work sessions, and one-on-one SEG mentorship to help participants navigate key steps in assessing the feasibility of their ideas and then determine whether to pursue, pivot, partner, or pass on them.

“I’m very excited that Project Insulin was accepted into the SEG Accelerator Program. When it comes to helping nonprofits and social impact organizations, we know that SEG is the gold standard here in Rhode Island,” said Eric Moyal, Founder of Project Insulin. “I look forward to being a part of a proven ecosystem of like-minded professionals, founders, and investors/donors and get Project Insulin one step closer to providing everyone with access to affordable insulin.”

Since its start, SEG has grown a portfolio of more than 600 businesses and nonprofits creating positive social impact through improvements in access to educational opportunities, training and employment, healthcare, financial services, healthy food, affordable housing, and a safe and healthy environment.

“We look forward to following the growth of these ventures in the coming months and are proud to have them join SEG’s diverse network of entrepreneurs,” said Owens.
