It was 5:30 am on a late April Friday in Providence and I was driving to Brown University’s Alumnae Hall for day 1 of #SEEED15. Snow flurries filled the air- hardly the picturesque spring day I had envisioned during months of the planning process. Regardless, the conference was about to be underway, a testament to months of planning from the SEEED at Brown student group, Worldways Social Marketing, Brown’s Social Innovation Initiative, and the SEG team!
With opening remarks from Brown President Christina Paxson and RI Senator Jack Reed, “The Power of Local” had its kickoff with a keynote conversation featuring Margot Rogers of The Parthenon Group, Rink Dickinson of Equal Exchange, and Gus Schumacher of Wholesome Wave.
As those leaders chatted among themselves, I began to notice another form of chatter happening among attendees- that taking place in a virtual space.
Three months later, contents of the conference program are fuzzy to me (available here if you want a refresher!). What does remain clear, however, is how in awe I was of the bold conversations between attendees on Twitter.
And so, in tribute to the dynamism of SEEED15’s social media savvy crew, I present here without commentary my completely subjective top five tweets of the conference:
