On July 17th, 2014, over 150 business and community leaders put on construction hats and partied the night away at our Build Out Benefit. We gave tours of the vacant, corner office space at 10 Davol Square and heard inspiring stories from individuals dedicated to making this THE place for social innovation. Just less than a year later, with the April 2nd Grand Opening event a success and 50+ ‘do well do good’ members, the Social Enterprise Greenhouse Hub is open for business, and that’s all thanks to you!
Local members like Providence Granola, Equal Exchange, Packaging 2.0, Worldways Social Marketing, and many more are working together to transform Providence into the epicenter for economic and social impact in the region. And, with our international members like Solar Sister and HMSolution, expanding their social impact worldwide – the movement has only begun!
So, what’s next for SEG Hub? We are currently hosting monthly Community Tables in partnership with Hope & Main and Babson College, Yoga with Shri Studio, and various members’ only activities, such as Venture Spotlights and Potluck events. And, we’ve only started! Here are just a few to highlight: SEG will be participating in a community bazaar at Ship Street Square, starting “Pitch it in 10” sessions (it’s like speed dating, but with a #SocEnt twist), hosting a Buy with Heart Marketplace for Small Business Saturday, and there’s many more – so, stay tuned.
Another exciting news! Thanks to the continuous support of the SEG community, we are still accepting scholarship application to become a member of SEG Hub. Supporting students and entrepreneurs is our mission! By providing the space to host meetings and events, SEG Hub is not just a co-working space, but aims to build a community, convene important conversations and drive sector growth – we want you to be a part of it.
