The Mission of the Rhode Island Black Storytellers, aka RIBS, is to promote the awareness, appreciation and application of Black storytelling through performances, workshops, educational and cultural experiences for all people. RIBS brings Black Storytelling and Black Storytellers to the world.

Through its Storytelling Legacy Training Program, RIBS will train people in the Cultural Arts and Craft of Black Storytelling. This workforce development program will provide participants with the skills, mentorship and confidence to create and deliver high quality Cultural EdU-Tainment Programs that will be marketed through RIBS so that they become a part of the RIBS Storytelling Roster, and continue the RIBS outreach and Legacy.
